Norene's Famous Swedish Cookies




Preheat oven to 350.

Ingredients:

  • 1/2 lb butter
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1 egg yolk
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 2 cups flour
  • 3/4 tsp baking powder
  • Either:
    • 2 LARGE Hershey Bars
    • 2.5 LARGE Ghiradelli Chocolate Bars
  • Pecan pieces - optional
Mix butter and sugar. Blend in egg yolk, then vanilla. Slowly add in flour and baking powder.

Press into parchment lined 13 X 9 pan. Bake at 350 for 15 minutes.

Remove from oven, place broken candy bars on top. Place back in oven for 2 to 3 minutes (until chocolate starts to melt). Remove from oven, spread chocolate with spatula. Top with pecans, if using.

Cut while warm.
